Sara Ellenbogen
Greetings! I have been a philosophical counselor for more than a decade and have authored several articles in the APPA journal and a monograph, Wittgenstein’s Account of Truth, short-listed for the Canadian Philosophical Association Book Prize. I subscribe to the philosophy that a counselor is not a critic, not even a constructive one, but rather a guide who instills in the client the capacity to philosophize for him-or-herself.
Often we live by unexamined assumptions that we are unaware of making. These assumptions can keep us stuck by preventing inquiry into alternative perspectives. I help my clients resolve their issues by assisting them in identifying and examining their assumptions and inferences. I respect their beliefs and am forthcoming about my own. I offer assistance in formulating goals and support in bringing them to fruition.
