Lance Gracy
Lance H. Gracy, Ph.D., is a teacher, scholar, Marine veteran, and board-certified philosophical counselor with the American Philosophical Practitioners Association. Some of his scholarly works have appeared in Religions, Philotheos, Philosophy East and West, and elsewhere. Dr. Gracy’s journey to self-understanding began with a tremendous religious experience while serving as a Marine infantryman in 2013. Since then, he has been living out a spiritual-intellectual vocation–one deeply inspired by the life of St. Francis of Assisi, who was himself a veteran and one of history’s greatest exemplars of the “warrior in the garden” ethos–to reach others with the truth, wisdom, and love of the inspired word. Dr. Gracy’s philosophical practice addresses, most prominently, issues pertaining to veterans, meaning and fulfillment, and depression and anxiety. Utilizing the method of philosophical midwifery, the goal of his philosophical practice is to instill the virtue of self-understanding in his clients so for them to resolve life-related questions and problems with trust, intelligence, wisdom, and artfulness.
